Sha’ban 19, 1444 AH.

Sana’a -In the presence and the chairmanship of His Excellency the rector of the university Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, a scientific medical symposium on biotechnology and bioinformatics was held today’s morning, organized by department of training and rehabilitation at continuous learning center, deanship of environment and community service, in coordination with center of development and quality assurance, faculty of medicine, other faculties and centers at the university.

In the symposium which was attended by vice-rector for academic affairs Professor Mutaia Abu-Oraij, vice-rector for student affairs Professor Khaled Al-Moayyed, his assistant Professor Mohammed Al-Droubi, assistant to vice-rector for academic affairs Professor Jamil Ahsen Mujalli, deans of faculties and their deputies and a number of officials at the university, a speech was given by His Excellency the rector of the university Professor Mojahed Measar. He welcomed the participants and attendees, pointing out the importance of holding such qualitative event that seeks to give an extension to the educational field at the university.

Professor Measar praised the content quality of the scientific papers that were presented at the symposium, expressing his thanks to every one participated in preparing and organizing such event.

For his part, vice-rector for academic affairs Professor Mutaia Abu-Oraij gave a speech in which he indicated that holding this academic event reflects the development of the university, pointing out that the vast number of attendees reflects the significance of the symposuim and its content quality.

Dean of center of development and quality assurance Professor Muneer Al-Wissabi affirmed that the scientific symposiums must be held periodically, and supported by His Excellency the rector of the university Professor Mojahed Ali Measar.

A number of papers were presented at the symposium. They were as follows :

-” Biotechnology in Pharmacy”, by Dr. Abdulmalek Abu-Donia, ex-dean of faculty of clinical pharmacy at 21 September University.

-“Biotechnology in Medical Devices”, by Dr. Aweth Al-Qubatti, deputy dean of faculty of medical technology at 21 September University.

-” Biotechnology” , by Dr. Abdulelah Thabet, deputy dean of clinical pharmacy faculty at 21 September University.

After that, the discussions were opened up and the attendees’ questions were answered.

At the end, the symposium has the following recommendations:

-working accoding to the principles of biotechnology represented in qualification and medical practice.
