The College of Medicine is one of the colleges of September 21 University. It was established to contribute with other medical colleges in addressing the gap in the adequacy and efficiency of the health sector and in the development and renaissance of Yemen. Since its opening, it has been playing its role in the educational process and community service. It is also the first medical college in Yemen to modify the duration of study to obtain a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery to become 5 years plus a year for compulsory “excellence” training (5+1) in order to keep pace with international standards for medical education. What is followed in regional and international medical colleges. The college began the study by accepting the first batch in the first level in 2016/2017, and the number of students at that level was 778 students. Then it continued to accept subsequent batches until the study was completed in all academic levels in the year 2021/2022. The college follows the block system (study unit), and this is regulated by a special regulation. In the college’s student and block affairs, the first batch graduated from the college in the academic year 2021/2022.
From this standpoint, we call on everyone not to miss the opportunity, and to do everything possible to continue the advancement of the college and enhance its position. In this regard, the college administration does not fail to praise the unlimited support it receives from the university administration, headed by Prof. Dr. Mujahid Maasar. The university president, who made supporting the college one of his most important priorities.
