●Sana’a – 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences has achieved a huge leap in the international ranking of world universities 2024, which was issued today.The university’s ranking according to the Webometrics classification and indicators jumped 4100 spots at the global level in the first edition – January 2024.
Professor Muneer Musleh Al-Wissabi, dean of the center of development and quality assurance said that the university has achieved distinctive leaps in this regard at the local and Arab levels, as jumped to 151 spots at the Arab level and 8 spots at the level of Yemeni universities compared to the university’s ranking in January of last year 2023. Professor Muneer Al-Wissabi added that those exceptional leaps of the university came as a result of the success and the great and rapid development that the university witnessed under the leadership of His Excellency the rector of the university, Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, and the efforts of all the official and staff of the university.He clarified that that success during the past year alone revolved around the opening of new faculties and academic programs at the bachelor’s and postgraduate levels. The university also witnessed a remarkable expansion of its infrastructure, accompanied by a significant increase in the number of students and academic staff assigned in various specializations. The university was also able to achieve expansion and growth in its academic programs and services by more than 375%, pointing out that the university has witnessed a remarkable development in educational methods and the use of modern technologies with the expansion of technological aspects and automation. The university has also won several national and regional awards in many scientific, cultural and sporting activities.He added that the university, through the quality center and the direct follow-up and supervision of His Excellency the rector of the university, as part of its goals for the past year, adopted the implementation of the plan to improve the university’s global ranking as part of its endeavor to achieve the university’s strategic directions in 2025, and the university is moving rapidly to obtain academic accreditation after submitting a request for technical support from the Council. Academic Accreditation: To obtain special academic (programmatic) accreditation for five academic programs that meet the requirements for applying the accreditation.
