Sana’a – His Excellency the rector of the university – the head of Supreme Medical Council Professor Mojahed Ali Measar praised the efforts of the leadership of Health Ministry and the role of Supreme  Authority of Drugs in improving and providing the safe medicines according to quality standards.

That took place in his speech delivered at the workshop on updating the national list of essential medicines – seventh edition, which kicked off today, organized by Supreme Authority of Drugs and Medical Appliances and National Program of Drug Supply.

Professor Measar stressed the importance of the workshop that aimed to improve the health environment of the patient through providing safe and effective medicines. He also stressed the need for taking the collective responsibility in contributing to saving the lives of the patients through providing the list of safe medicines.
At the workshop which was attended by deputy minister of health Dr. Motaher Al-Marwani, a number of speeches were delivered by undersecretary of Ministry of Heath Dr. Ali Jahaf, head of Supreme Authority of Drugs Dr. Ali Abbas, and pharmacovigilance manager at the Supreme Authority Dr. Faiz Sakran.They affirmed that holding such a workshop aimed at updating the national list of essential medicines according to the homeland needs that are in response to the variables in the pharmaceutical field as well as the objectives of the ministry represented in providing the effective and safe medicines.
