Sana’a – A twinning agreement was signed today between 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences and Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences. The agreement was signed by the leadership of the two universities represented by His Excellency the rector of 21 September university Professor Mojahed Ali Measar and His Excellency the rector of Jiblah university Professor Abdullah Al-Matari.

The signing ceremony of the twinning agreement was at Jiblah university,  in the presence of the deputy minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Mutahar Al-Marouni. The agreement includes areas of twinning and joint coordination in the fields of education, research, culture and community service.

In an official statement to the media, His Excellency Professor Mojahed Measar said, ” the twinning agreement between these medical specialized universities is signed for exploiting the potential and exchanging the experienced staff to reap the mutual benefits for students and community across the homeland, especially the universities carry mutiple burdens due to the aggression and blockade imopsed on our homeland as well as preventing the sick people from traveling abroad.” For his part, the rector of Jiblah University, Prof. Abdullah Al-Matari, expressed his happiness at signing this agreement in Jiblah University, and considered it a positive step in the right direction. He added that the ultimate and most prominent goal of these positive steps is to improve the health service and develop medical, academic, research and cultural work, all of which serve the community.

For his part, the deputy minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Mutahar Al-Marouni, blessed the signing of this agreement, which focuses on exchanging scientific and academic experiences and facilitating the student’s access to knowledge and developing his skills. The event was attended by the director of the health office in Ibb governorate, Dr. Abdullah Al-Samawi, a member of the Supreme Medical Council, Prof. Yahya Al-Hadi, the assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Medical Council, Dr. Fadia Al-Dailami, and the director of Jiblah district, Mohammad Mohsen Al-Muraisi.

The agreement includes exchanging the scientific publications and research and encouraging the joint scientific research among staff of the two universities. It also includes benefitting from the capabilities of laboratories and libraries in the two universities as well as the staff participation in the scientific conferences held by the two universities.

The agreement also includes the areas of publishing in scientific journals and periodicals issued by the two universities, the cooperation in the field of development and quality assurance through exchanging experiences as well as exchanging academic, administrative and student visits in the future.
