Sana’a – His Excellency Prime minister Professor Abdulaziz Ben-Habtour met today His Excellency the rector of the university – head of the supreme medical council, Professor Mojahed Measar.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency prime minister congratulated His Excellency the rector of the university on the significant progress made by the university during the past period, through which it achieved accelerated successes and qualitative leaps in different scientific and academic fields, of which the latest was ranking the unversity first in debating competition following win over Yemeni universities as well as taking part in Asian championship of debating in Muscat.
His Excellency Prime minister was briefed on the plan that shares common objectives between the medical council and academic accreditation council, and which is related to the evaluation of faculties of medicine. The plan is extraordinary work for meeting the international standards of medical education. It is also a binding right exercised by all faculties of medicine in 2024 deadline, through which they can get the academic ccreditation.
The head of supreme medical council also reviewed the quality of the medical outputs by which the medical graduate must receive a licence to practise medicine before he or she can be called a physician in a legal sense, a process that usually entails exam by supreme medical council.
The meeting was attended by the academic advisor to head of medical council, Professor Abdul-Salam Al-Aqel; legal advisor, Judge Hussien Al-Qabsi; and assistant secretary-general, Mr. Rashad Al-Sanani.
