SANA’A-  More than 3, 200 medical graduates, from different fields, are to take the second medical licensing exam, in  2023, by tomorrow. The exam, organized and supervised by the Supreme Medical Council, will be at 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences.

In this regard, His Excellency the head of the supreme medical council – the rector of 21 September university Professor Mojahed Measar indicated, ” the supreme medical council will give the medical licensing exam tomorrow for 3,208 medical graduates, classfied as follows: 1449 have BA ; and 1759 have Diploma qualifications.”

His Excellency the head of supreme medical council added that the the examinees who have BA are from the specializations of general medicine, labs, dentistry, nursing, midewifery, radiology, anesthetics, nutrition, pharmacy and clinical pharmacy. On the other hand, the examinees who have diploma are from the specializations of labs, pharmacy, respiratory care, paramedics, dentistry, radiology, emergencies, anesthetics, operation technician, midwifery and nursing.

His Excellency the head of supreme medical council added that the exams aim to ensure the quality of the staff performance at the medical institutions so as to put an end to medical errors and malpractices, pointing out that the medical licensing is a must for making sure that the errors and malpractices are terminated by graduates from different medical institutions.
Accordingly, there is no place in medicine for those who are ill-equipped to practise due to poor training and lack of skills.

For her part, the secretary of the supreme medical council,  Dr.Fadia Al-Dailmi mentioned that the supreme medical council is keen on continuing giving the medical licensing exams according to the duties and tasks vested on it, pointing out that the council is the sole official entity that grants medical licence in Yemen.
