Sana’a – First Scientific Conference of 21 September University (Discussion of Graduation Research at Faculty of Medicine, 1444 AH) was launched today under the slogan: ” Scientific Research is the Foundation Stone for Community Progress”. The conference includes discussion of graduation researches presented by students and it also includes peer-reviewed papers presented by academic staff at faculty of medicine. In the event attended by deputies prime minister, minister of higher education and scientific research, minister of civil service, minister of health, minister of works and rectors of the universities, a speech was given by His Excellency the prime minister Professor Abdul-Aziz Bin Habtoor, in which he praised the great march of progress achieved by 21 September University and its various faculties.
The Prime Minister expressed his congratulations to the 500 students of the first batch. stressing the importance of hiring them to fill the gap of the lack of health staff.
At the end of his speech, the Prime Minister thanked the rector of 21 September University, the deans of faculties and the rectors of all Yemeni universities for their efforts exerted for the sake of serving our homeland.
In the opening session of the conference, the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, considered the medical and scientific movement at the level of universities and hospitals as evidence of interest of staff and scientific research that aimed at improving medical services in light of such hard time.He stressed the Ministry’s keenness to pay attention to medical education, qualify the staff, encourage and adopt scientific research in various health fields, due to its importance in cognitive and practical empowerment, acquiring skills and experience, and keeping up with the latest in the field of different studies, research and health sciences.
Dr. Al-Mutawakel blessed the convening of 21 September University conference and the preparation for the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the university.
For his part, the rector of 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences, Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, stressed the importance of the first scientific conference in which the graduation researches of first batch students at faculty of medicine will be discussed. He stated that the discussion of graduation research in a scientific conference aims to motivate students to conduct studies and scientific research of great value which is a qualitative addition in the field of medical and applied sciences.
Professor Measar pointed out that the conference will include scientific sessions in which 56 graduation reseaches and research papers will be presented by graduates and academics.
Professor Measar mentioned events of first scientific conference of 21 September University as follows:
-Presenting Scientific researches of an elite group of academic staff at faculty of medicine.
-Discussing graduation researches of first batch at faculty of medicine (medicine – surgery).
- Publicizing the scientific board of medical doctorate program (MD) and its bylaw (regulations).
-Launching and publicizing the programs of faculty of medical technology.
- Launching and publicizing the programs of faculty of medical applied sciences.
-Launching the new academic year 1445 AH corresponding to 2023 -2024.
-Honoring ceremony for the first top graduates and the best researches.
For his part, the vice-rector for academic affairs, Professor Mutaia Abu-Oraij pointed out the importance of the conference to highlight the most important health and medical issues related to the community and their solutions. He considered holding the university’s first conference as a translation of its mission to provide the community with qualified graduates and staff, stressing the keenness to adopt scientific research as a main focus in teaching and learning through preparing advanced curricula and keeping up with the latest in the field of medicine. The conference will discuss 46 papers presented by 509 graduates of the first batch of faculty of medicine, in addition to ten peer-reviewed scientific papers presented by academic staff at faculty of medicine.
