Sana’a – Under the auspices of His Excellency the rector of the university,Prof. Mojahed Ali Measar, and supervision of the dean of faculty of medicine, Prof. Salwa Al-Qumairi, the languages and translation center launched today giving the occupational English test(OET) for the students of the university.The center of languages and translation, deanship of environment and community service, in cooperation with the faculty of medicine, started today giving the exam for the first batch of students of faculty of medicine. So the training program will start next week through conducting extensive courses in English for medical purposes.For her part, Prof. Salwa Al-Qumairi, the dean of faculty of medicine, praised this first unique step adopted by 21 September University, indicating that this first step in Yemen is led by His Excellency the rector of university through his continuous support in building up generation armed with knoweldge and science , and capable of fulfilling its responsibilities for serving our homeland via alleviating the suffering of people and relieving their pain, especially in the light of the brutal aggression and suffocating blockade imposed on our homeland. She regarded the program as one of the forms of steadfastness of academic medical staff who reject to surrender and stop fulfilling their mission towards the homeland.Al-Ghamiri added that the leadership of the university and faculty will spare no effort in providing all means to conduct the training programs in order to achieve academic progress and break all barriers of isolation imposed on the higher education sector. In addition, the program will target all university students in various faculties and medical specialties to obtain the OET, international certificate, that enhances the proficiency and quality of the university’s outputs. To sum up, 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences is the first and only institution in Yemen that conducts this program.
