SANA’A – Under the auspices of His Excellency Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, the rector of 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences, the new branch of the university witnessed today a public ceremony to welcome and honor Yemeni football (soccer) team which won West Asian Junior Cup. At the massive crowd event, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Mahmoud Al-Junaid , the member of political Supreme Council, Mohammed Al-Naimee and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Hussien Hazeb, praised the historic achievement of the team, which made the Yemeni people happy.

For his part, Professor Measar praised the role of the technical and administrative bodies in preparing the players and entering the tournament with the spirit of champions, despite the differences in capabilities compared to the competing teams.

He pointed out the need to preserve this team and harness abilities for the team to achieve more achievements in foreign sports forums, despite the systematic destruction of the infrastructure of the sports sector by the aggression.

He also added that this honor coincided with the opening of the new branch of the university on Hadda Street and the inauguration of the sports tournaments held by 21 September University, and honoring the players who won the first places in the fourth winter university championship organized by Wahda Club in Sana’a.

At the end of the ceremony, which was attended by the undersecretaries of the Ministry of Youth,the directors of the youth offices and representatives of Sana’a governorate, the rector vices and deans of faculties, they honored the members of the Yemeni National Team , in return for their historic achievement.
