Sana’a – His Excellency the rector of the university – head of Supreme Medical Council Professor Mojahed Ali Measar participated today in the events of the first medical conference on cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology, organized by hospital of Yemen Al-Saeed for two days.

At the conference which was attended by vice-rectors, assistants to vice-rectors, deans of faculties, deputies deans and a number of academics at the university, the member of the Supreme Political Council, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, affirmed that Yemen, during the recent periods, witnessed a quantum leap and a real renaissance in the specialized medical field.
Al-Rahwi indicated that Yemen has a selection of the best doctors who are able to perform complex and difficult operations in various medical specialties.
He considered that the medical conference is a part of the scientific activities and conferences held by the ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Public Health and Population, and some hospitals to improve the health situation in Yemen, confirming that the development taking place today in the medical field obviates the need to travel abroad.
Al-Rahwi emphasized the need to monitor and evaluate the performance of hospitals and the mechanisms used to ensure the improvement of the quality of services provided to citizens, and to avoid medical errors.

For his part, the prime minister, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, stressed the importance of the conference in giving an additional impetus to medical work, given its topic and the participants from all provinces of the Republic.
He pointed out that doctors played a very important role in the Supreme Political Council-controlled provinces, in which the citizens suffered from the effects of the aggression, just as the citizens in the provinces under the occupation suffered as a result of the insecurity, chaos, and lack of basic services.

At the conference, which was attended by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Abd al-Salam Hashul, minister of state Dr. Hameed al-Mezajjaji, a number of speeches were delivered by the minister of Higher Education Hussein Hazeb, deputy minister of Health Dr. Mutahar Al-Marouni, the head of the conference Dr. Khaled Measar, and the member of Supreme Medical Council – the head of Yemeni doctors Syndicate Dr. Abdul-Karim Thamer. They stressed the importance of the conference in highlighting the latest medical findings in the treatment of cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology.

Over two days, the conference will discuss a number of scientific and research working papers in the fields of cardiac catheterization, methods of treating acute heart attacks and angina pectoris, chronic cases of atherosclerosis, methods of expanding heart valves, and methods of digital imaging of the brain and peripheral arteries.

During the opening ceremony, VIP guests who contributed to the success of the conference were honored. The conference was attended by undersecretaries of ministries, heads of public and private universities, a number of heads of hospitals, and more than one thousand participants of cardiologists from different governorates.
