Sana’a – His Excellency the rector of the University, Professor Mojahed Ali Measar launched today the sixth university chess championship (Al-Aqsa Flood), organized by general management of activities at the university for both male and female categories, with the participation of 110 players from various faculties and centers of the university. At the inauguration, which was attended by a number of university officials, His Excellency the rector of the University stressed the importance of caring for youths of university, educating them, developing their creativity and skills, and protecting them from soft war and foreign cultures, through purposeful activities and events.

His Excellency the rector of the University pointed out that the university is keen to organize such tournaments and to support and sponsor athletes and youth, in a way that benefits the university student participants in enhancing the mental capabilities of the competing players and revealing promising talents in the future of Yemeni chess. He praised the interaction of the participating players and their enthusiasm to participate in the competition for the sake of winning the title.
