Sana’a – His Excellency the rector of the university – head of the Supreme Medical Council Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, deputy minister of higher education and scientific research Professor Ali Sharaf Al-Din, deputy governor of Ibb – secretary general of the local council Mr. Amin Ali Al-Warafi and His Excellency the rector of Jiblah university Professor Abdullah Al-Matari launched today the scientific symposium on ” Hepatitis Spread Generally in Yemen and Particularly in Ibb Governorate”, organized by Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences, and under the auspices of His Excellency the minister of public health and population Professor Taha Ahmed Al-Mutawakil and His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research Mr. Hussein Ali Hazeb.

The symposium discussed, during five scientific sessions, 21 working papers presented by a group of senior consultants and national specialists in diseases of the digestive system, liver and biliary tract endoscopy in Yemen, in the presence of 350 medical and health staff from Ibb governorate and the other governorates. The symposium had a number of recommendations as follows:

-Work seriously on establishing a liver transplant center.

The symposium also recommended vaccinating all health workers against hepatitis viruses.

His Excellency the rector of the university was accompanied by the assistant secretary general of the University for relations and planning Affairs, Mr. Rashad Al-Sanaani, and the director of relations, Mr. Mohammed Jameel.
