At the opening of the conference, which was attended by the Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Ghazi Ahmed Ali Mohsen, and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed that holding scientific conferences in Yemeni universities is a step in the right direction to achieve the goals of higher education represented in “education”. scientific research, and community service.

He praised its continued organization of such conferences in light of the unjust aggression and siege, and its role in providing the opportunity for researchers and academics to share experiences, and to learn about new techniques and results of scientific research in oral and dental medicine and surgery.

Hazeb also affirmed the ministry’s keenness to support and evaluate graduate studies programs in Yemeni universities and to license specific specializations that meet the requirements of the labor market, according to the extent of their commitment to local and international academic accreditation standards.

For his part, the Minister of Health and Population stressed the importance of continuous education for medical cadres to contribute to upgrading the profession and improving medical services to the community.

The Minister of Health called on Yemeni universities to expand the opening of postgraduate courses in various qualitative and precise specializations, especially oral and maxillofacial medicine and dentistry, to enable graduates to continue their higher studies and cover the existing deficit in the specialty of dentists and distribute them to the directorates and isolation in various governorates in order to overcome the problem of the concentration of the majority of them in the cities.

“Dental problems and their complications start with primary care at the village level, and there are more than 1,000 health centers, and 4,000 health units need 4,000 dentists and distribute them to these centers, in addition to the need to treat dental problems in children in schools,” he said.

The Minister of Health stressed the obligation of dental clinics and centers to provide a sterilizer to reduce the risks of the spread of viruses transmitted through the blood during dental treatment.

For his part, the president of the conference, Dr. Amr Al-Najjar, explained that the conference, in which more than 400 doctors and dentists from different governorates are participating, aims in its fourth session to provide training opportunities for newly graduated dentists, encourage scientific research as a societal priority, encourage continuous education, create communication and exchange experiences between researchers. in this medical field.

The opening was attended by the undersecretaries of the Ministry of Higher Education, members of the Academic Accreditation Council, heads of public and private universities and deans of dental faculties in Yemeni universities.
