Sana’a – Under the auspices and in the presence of His Excellency the rector of the university – the head of the supreme medical council, Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Haboob, the head of council of academic accreditation and quality assurance at higher education, a joint meeting was held today by committees that have been assigned the task of evaluating medical faculties at private universities.The committees will check whether the legality of licences were granted according to the law of private universities, guides, standards and indicators of academic accreditation council related to medical programs and faculties, and under the slogan,” medical education is a nation life and a national responsibility”.

The meeting included members from the two councils(supreme medical council and medical academic accreditation council) and the formed committees are assigned the task of evaluating and analyzing the medical programs at private universities.

In statement to the media center at 21 September University, His Excellency the rector of the university – the head of supreme medical council, Professor Mojahed Ali Measar said,” this meeting aims to discuss the mechanism of the work of the committees assigned the the task of evaluating the medical faculties at private universities as well as reforming the legal system of opening medical programs.” Professor Measar added, ” the formed committees will cary out their task according to clear parameters. So, they will make sure whether the programs are licensed according to the law of private universities , guides, standards, and indicators of academic accreditation related to medical faculties and programs.”

Professor Measar indicated, ” this step will seek to improve the medical outputs that connect directly with the life of human being.”
