The Council of September 21 University for Medical and Applied Sciences is the supreme body supervising the formulation of the university’s academic and administrative policies.

The Council works to ensure the provision of high-quality education, and enhances the University’s position as a leading scientific institution.

The University Council, as it represents the backbone of academic and administrative supervision, plays a pivotal role in drawing up strategies and setting goals that contribute to enhancing the university’s position and consolidating its pillars as a leading educational institution at the national and regional levels.

The University Board of Directors is not just an advisory body, but rather a major driver towards achieving quality and academic excellence; through its close supervision of all aspects of university work, starting from developing academic curricula to promoting scientific research and providing the best educational services to our dear students.

The Council of September 21 University for Medical and Applied Sciences consists of a group of academics and experts in the fields of higher education, scientific research and university administration. The Council is headed by the President of the University, and its membership includes the Vice Presidents of the University, Deans, academic and administrative experts, who have strong academic and administrative backgrounds, ensuring the university’s progress and innovation in all areas of its work.

University Council Tasks

  1. Drawing educational policies: The Council is responsible for drawing up the university’s educational policies and determining its academic frameworks, to ensure the provision of high-quality educational programs that keep pace with the latest scientific and technological developments.
  2. Supervising academic programs: Following up on the development and updating of academic programs to meet the requirements of the local and international labor market, and ensuring their compliance with academic accreditation standards.
  3. Achieving the university’s strategic goals: Following up on the implementation of the university’s strategic plans and achieving its long-term goals in the fields of education, scientific research, and community participation.
  4. Organizing and developing scientific research: The Council supervises the implementation of scientific research plans, and promotes innovation and research cooperation with local, regional, and international research institutions.
  5. Community participation and interaction with the health sector: Enhancing the university’s role as an effective contributor to improving the national health system by providing programs.

Decisions and strategic directives of the University Council

The University Council makes its decisions based on the research and studies conducted by the University, and works to direct its policies in accordance with developments in the academic and educational sector at the local and international levels. The strategic directives include enhancing applied medical education, improving the performance of academic staff, and developing the University’s infrastructure to meet the needs of students and ensure an integrated educational environment for them.
