Sana’a – Under the auspices of His Excellency the rector of the university Professor Mojahed Ali Measar and under the supervision of dean of medicine faculty Professor Salwa Al-Kumairi, the workshop of gynecological laparoscopic surgery, organized by faculty of medicine at the university and C-plas hospital, was concluded today.

In the closing ceremony of the workshop, His Excellency the rector of the university delivered a speech in which he appreciated the great performane done by the trainers and trainees. He also praised the great efforts exerted by faculty of medicine for holding such workshops that get medical staff benefit of their outcomes.

For her part, dean of faculty of medicine Professor Salwa Al-Kumairi has given a background about the workshop. She stated that the gynecological laparoscopic surgery that is a minimally invasive approach that allows the surgeon to operate without making a large incision.

She added that the major advantage of laparoscopic gynecological surgery is that the doctor can now perform the same surgeries that used to require large open incisions with just one (or a few) tiny incisions. This reduces pain and scarring, and significantly reduces the time it takes for you to recover from surgery.
She added that the gynecologists must be skilled in performing operations related to laparscopic surgery.
It is worth noting that the workshop lasted for three days. It included trainees from different governorates of Yemen.
At the end of the event the trainers and trainees were honored with appreciation certificates.
