Sana’a – His Excellency the rector of the university – head of supreme medical council Professor Mojahed Ali Measar was honoured today with the shield of the first medical surgical conference, organized by faculty of medicine at Amran university, attended by prime minister Professor Abdulaziz Bin Habtoor and a large number of officials of the state, universities and educational health institution.

Prime minster delivered a speech, stressing the importance of that scientific event that serves the process of developing the medical specialization at Amran university and other universities.

He affirmed that the universities with their professors and researchers managed to overcome the difficulties through using technical communication means and internet by which they made considerable gains for keeping and developing the process of  education and research.

He indicated that the medicine holds higher position in the educational rank so the Yemeni society needs it to bridge the gap between the outputs and the real demand that amounts to 80,000 doctors, while the existing number is only 6,000 doctors.

In the event, a number of Speeches were also given by minister of higher education and scientific research Mr. Hussien Hazeb, minister of health Professor Taha Al-Metwakel, rector of Amran university  Professor Khaled Al-Hawali, chairman of the conference and dean of medicine faculty Professor Mohammed Al-Eryani and chairman of the preparatory committee Dr. Mohammed Al-Akwa. They reaffirmed that holding such conferences contribute substantially to keeping up the accelerated  scientific developments.

The the delegation of 21 September University includes 40 academics, some of them participated in directing the sessions and the others presented scientific research papers. The event was attended by vice rector for student affairs Professor Khaled Al-Moayyed, dean of faculty of medicine Professor Salwa Al-Qumairi, dean of center of development and quality assurance Professor Muneer Al-Wissabi, a number of deputy deans, heads of departments and academic staff.
