June 30, 2022Sana’a – 3445 applicants, who have a bachelor’s degree and diploma in different medical fields, took the second medical licensing exam today in 2022. The exam was supervised by the Supreme Medical Council. His Excellency the rector of 21 September University – the head of Supreme Medical Council, Prof. Mojahed Measar, gave a statement to the media center, during his inspection to the progress of the exam that was done in accordance with the approved plan by the Supreme Medical Council, pointing out that the second medical licensing exam was an extension to those exams supervised and given regularly by Supreme Medical Council in different medical specialities in different governorates.His Excellency Prof. Measar added that the medical licensing exam had become a common evaluation system for those wanting to get a license to practise medicine in Yemen.It is also a true measure of medical competence and eligibility for practising medicine. So medicine is a profession that is concerned with the safety and health of people. Thus, the staff of the Supreme Medical Council do their best to exclude the incompetent and unqualified staff in medical field. He concluded his speech by wishing all applicants success and congratulations on the advent of Eid al-Adha.For her part, the assistant secretary-general of the Supreme Medical Council, Dr. Fadia Al-Dailami, said that the second medical licensing exam included various medical specialties. So the number of applicants who have BA qualifications is 1255, in the field of general medicine, pharmacy, nursing, dentistry, and laboratories. Anesthesia, clinical pharmacy, radiology, nutrition, and midwifery; whereas the number of applicants who have diplomas is 2,190, in the fields of midwifery, anesthesia, pharmacy, paramedics, laboratories, nursing, radiology, dental technician, and operations technician. His Excellency the rector of the university – the head of the Supreme Medical Council was accompanied, during his inspection for the progress of the exam, by vice rector for students affairs, vice rector for graduate studies and scientific research , assistants to vice rector, a number of deans and their deputies, Secretary general, assistant secretary general and a number of senior administration officials of Supreme Medical Council.
