SANA’A- 2972 residents from different medical specialities have taken the fourth medical licensing exam today at 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences.The rector of the university – head of the supreme medical council, Professor Mojahed Measar, along with vice-rector for student affairs, vice- rector for academic affairs, vice-rector for higher studies, rector assistants, deans of the faculties, secretary-general and secretary general assistant, have inspected, during visiting the halls, the process of exam and heard from the exam committees the details of the exam mechanism that includes the update monitoring means and the accurate electronic correction. Professor Measar clarified that the number of examinees who have BA qualifications is 944, classified as follows: 160 GPs; 170 pharmacists; 147 nurses ; 133 dentists ; 244 laboratorians ; 19 clinical pharmacists ; 31 anethestists ; 14 radiologists and 26 nutritionists.In addition, he pointed out that the examinees who have diplomas are 2028, classified as follows: 252 midwives; 352 pharmacists ; 637 paramedics; 291 lab technicians; 343 nurses ; 18 anesthetists ; 31 radiologists; 49 Operations technicians and 11dental technicians.
Accordingly, he emphasized that all health professionals are required to take the test not only to obtain a licence to practice medicine but also to push the quality of healthcare in Yemen to its highest level.
For her part, the secretary of the supreme medical council, Dr. Fadia Al-Dailmi pointed to the continuation of the licensure test which is the path of excellence and the quality assurance of medical outputs.Thus, She mentioned that the supreme medical council is the sole official entity that grants medical licence in Yemen.
