Sana’a – 21 September university ranked first through winning the title of universities debating championship organized by university of science and technology, and with participation of a large number of state and private universities. So,the team of the university won a great majority of 6 votes, defeating the team of university of science and technology. They also managed to win the tournament through adopting the convinced and scientific style, for example the student, Ala’a Suhail, won the award for the best speaker.

For his part, His Excellency the rector of the university, Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, congratulated the team for winning and ranking first in the tournament. He said that the team achieved the success and distinction that reflected the prestige and status given to the university as well as the skills of its staff in different fields. He appreciated the great efforts exerted by all participating students, university leadership and faculties.

In a statement to educational channel, dean of faculty of medicine, Professor Salwa Al-Qumairi, congratulated the team on the great success achieved by them in that qualitative competition, appreciating their brilliant performance in which they were an honour to the university. Al-Qumairi thanked His Excellency the rector of the university who is the main sponsor of the educational process and various activities held inside or outside the university. She also thanked the host university for the championship. At the end of the closing ceremony, the representatives of 21 September university were honoured with the championship shield. The final event was attended by Dr. Khaled Jobran, director general of media and public relations.

It is worth mentioning that the team of the university, represented by Jobran Al-Zaidar, Rodaina Abdul-moqni, Ala’a Suhail and Taiyseer Al-Maqtari, were the only team who have never ever been defeated till they won the title of the championship.
