Sana’a – 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences will receive tomorrow, Monday, at its main building in Hezyez, and the other building (2) in 50 street , more than 3,900 applicants who are going to take the second medical licensing exam to obtain an official license to practice medical profession in various specialties.
All the teams responsible for supervising the exams have completed all the preparations to receive the applicants from various governorates of Yemen to take the exam.
In a statement to the media center of the university, His Excellency the rector of the university – head of Supreme Medical Council, Professor Mojahed Ali Measar, said that 1,750 bachelor’s degree holders will take the exams in building 2 of the university located at 50 street. The applicants have various specialties such as general medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, radiology technician, dentistry, laboratories, pharmacy, midwifery, nutrition, anesthesia, clinical pharmacy, and community medicine.
He added that 2,204 diploma holders will take their exams in the main building in Hezyez, in the specialties of pharmacy diploma, nursing, laboratories, dentistry, radiology technician, emergency technician, dental assistant, anesthesia, respiratory care, optics, physiotherapy, paramedic, and midwifery.
Professor Measar pointed out that obtaining the honor of the license is evidence of the competence of the medical staff to practice the profession with proficiency. He added that the importance of these exams comes in order to assess the extent of the medical field personnel’s comprehension in all medical specialties of the sciences they have received during their studies, and their ability to reflect what they have learned in practical reality accurately and safely, and in pursuit of high-quality medical service, and to reduce the occurrence of medical errors, as these professions deal with human life.
